DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF BOMB DETECTION & DISPOSAL ROBOT WITH GPS LOCATION & LIVE VIDEO STREAMING USING RASPBERRY PI

By Hugo Technologies

 Abstract

Robotics plays major role in this generation. Especially for security applications, robots can do any kind of task. Bomb disposal is critical task through human and sometimes it risks human life. But robot is a machine and we can send another robot, if existed robot damages while disposal bomb. Here robot controlled by smart phone. It has video surveillance camera and metal sensor to detect bombs. Bomb technicians face life-threatening risks daily, with numerous personnel getting injured or losing their lives while defusing bombs. The primary objective of this robot is to offer an additional layer of protection to these squads by enabling them to inspect and analyze suspicious packages before physically approaching them for disposal. Even if the robot cannot directly disrupt an item, it can still play a crucial role in relaying valuable information to facilitate tool and procedure selection. Additionally, the robot’s camera can capture vital events, serving as valuable evidence for subsequent analysis.

This project proposes a method for controlling a robot with the internet. The mobile and raspberry pi board is connected through internet. As the name suggests the robot applicable in military application that is detect the bomb. Robot can show visual image which is in front of it. It can also show the position. A signal is generated from the mobile (through internet) which will be received by the raspberry pi board and the robot works according to the program. In conclusion, robots in bomb disposal are a big step forward in technology. They save lives and lower the risks for bomb disposal teams. The robotic arm, mobile (through internet), and wireless camera are all key features that provide safety and control in dangerous situations.

 Existing System

in this Existing System military people living at the borders have to find bombs themselves. This is very dangerous because if they don’t find the bomb in time, it can explode and harm everyone nearby. To solve this problem, a new method has been created. Instead of a person searching for the bomb, a robot is used. In the old system, people had to walk around with a bomb detector, which was very risky and could get them killed. With the new method, a robot goes instead of a person. The robot shows live video and tracks its location, making it much safer.

 Proposed System

In this proposed system robots were controlled through special networks. Now, they are controlled over the internet because it uses a standard communication method and is available almost everywhere. Robots controlled this way are called internet robots. The first internet robots were fixed in one place and worked in small areas. Later, internet robots that could move around larger areas were developed. Robots are now often used to do repetitive tasks instead of humans.

Robotics can be divided into two types: industrial and service robots. The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) says a service robot is one that works on its own or with some help to do tasks that benefit people and equipment, except for manufacturing.

Today, the internet is central to everything. People prefer to go online rather than do household chores. The internet is now everywhere; unlike the past when it was only wired and you had to use a computer to access it. Today, the internet is easily accessible from your phone. This makes it a great time to introduce robots into homes.

 Working & Results

Raspberry Pi as the Main Controller: The Raspberry Pi serves as the main control unit for the bomb detection robot. It runs the necessary software and interfaces with various hardware components like DHT11 sensor, MQ2 sensor, Metal Sensor, USB Camera, Servo Motor and L293D Motor Driver

Bomb Detection Mechanism: This robot helps find and safely handle bombs. It uses Raspberry Pi is a small computer to do its job. The robot knows where it is with GPS just like a map on a phone. It also sends live video so we can see what it sees. When it detects a bomb, the robot carefully moves it away to keep everyone safe and dispose. It’s like having a smart helper that does hard and risky work for us..

STEP 1: Download Advanced IP Scanner app and open.
